Emphasis on Program, Priorities & Performance

For more than 40 years, the Stronach family has been breeding Thoroughbreds in North America. From the start, we have been committed to success at every level of the Thoroughbred industry. In recent years, our main priorities have been promoting and developing first-rate stallion rosters in Florida and Kentucky, and acquiring young racemares to augment our proven broodmare band. This combination ensures continued support for our stallions, enabling them to remain competitive in the commercial marketplace.

Each year, Adena Springs offers our entire foal crop at auction - as weanlings, yearlings or two-year-olds. The only exceptions are a few daughters of our foundation mares that eventually will join our broodmare band, and the select colts who comprise the Adena Racing Venture.

Integrity, transparency and full disclosure in the auction ring remain fundamental priorities of Adena Springs and all of its representatives. Our 2008 Racing Venture consists of eight of our best bred colts, each of which has passed a rigorous selection process that includes a comprehensive conformation evaluation and pre-sale soundness examination. Every colt has been through the same multiple Eclipse Award winning Adena Springs program as our recent equine superstars and champions. Additionally, each colt has been carefully trained and patiently handled by our professional and hand-on staff. In fact, the virtue of patience is never more apparent than in our approach to raising and conditioning developing racehorses. We never compromise the well being of young racing stock by asking too much too soon. This approach will remain a priority and fundamental cornerstone of our program.
